Volkswagen Finally Announces Pricing of the 2020 Passat R-Line – RM203,411

After making us wait for two months since Arteon’s launch event where it was previewed, Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) today finally announced the pricing of the 2020 Passat R-Line, which asks for RM203,411 minus SST.

Sitting between the Passat Elegance and the flagship Arteon R-Line, the Passat R-Line is powered by the same 2.0-litre TSI engine as the other two, producing 190 PS and 320 Nm of torque which is sent to the front wheels via a seven-speed wet dual clutch transmission with paddle shifters.

Driving experience is enhanced with Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) and Driving Mode Selection that allows for the driver to customise and select up to 15 driving style preferences.

While the powertrain remains the same, the Passat R-Line comes with an array of cosmetic enhancements that make it look sportier than its “Elegance” sibling.

The features include a different bumper with larger air intakes, side skirts, a gloss black rear bumper insert, dummy quad exhaust tips, as well as 19-inch Verona wheels.

Inside, the Passat R-Line comes with a thicker flat-bottomed steering wheel, aluminium pedals, black headlining and black Nappa leather upholstery with a carbon fibre-like pattern.

In terms of infotainment, the car is fitted with an 11.7-inch digital instrument display, along with the Discover Pro navigation system with a 9.7-inch touchscreen and wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto connectivity.

Safety wise, there are six airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, stability control, blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert, a tyre pressure monitoring system and ISOFIX child seat anchors.

Plus, those who purchase the 2020 Volkswagen Passat R-Line now will receive a 300W Helix Soundbar worth RM2,400 for free.

Last but not least, the Passat R-Line comes with 3-years free maintenance, 5-years unlimited mileage warranty, and 5-years Roadside Assistance.

This weekend, from the 17th to 18th October, Volkswagen dealerships nationwide will be hosting a virtual event featuring detailed walkthroughs of the new Passat R-Line where customers are invited to send in their questions and interact with Sales Consultants via Facebook Live from the comfort and safety of their own homes.

Customers who place a booking over this weekend will enjoy an additional RM2,000 rebate on top of RM3,500 exclusive savings on the full Passat range, via the Volkswagen eShowroom. There will also be an additional RM1,000 rebate on other Volkswagen models, with the exception of the Polo.
