VIDEO: Listen To The Koenigsegg Regera Accelerate From 50-350 KM/H In Just One Gear

When the Koenigsegg Regera was unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, we were a little sceptical of its ICE and Direct Drive powertrain combination, which is capable of reaching 400 km/h in just one gear. That’s where this Instagram video comes in.

Here, the Swedish car maker show us the Regera’s unique powertrain in action, pulling the car from a steady 50 km/h all the way to 350 km/h, employing the full 1,500hp and 2,000Nm of torque to do so.

Listen closely and you’ll notice the absence of any upshifts, just one gear (final drive ratio) and three powerful electric motors getting the Regera up to speed. In actuality, when the Regera revs to near the redline, it will already be doing near 400 km/h and it sounds pretty brilliant.
