UMW Toyota Motor Donates Hilux To Orphanage In Kedah
所有资讯A Toyota Hilux was recently donated by UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd to Yayasan Anak-Anak Yatim Sultanah Haminah (YAASH) in Alor Setar, Kedah.
The pickup will be used by the foundation for a variety of their charitable activities, events and community service work in an effort improve the well-being and quality of lives of orphans in Kedah.
Mr Akio Takeyama, UMW Toyota Motor’s Deputy Chairman, was in the Kedah state capital to hand over a mock key to the foundation’s partrol, Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah, during a ceremony on its grounds in Alor Setar.
UMW Toyota’s President, Datuk Ismet Suki was also in attendance, and expressed his hope that the Toyota Hilux would support the foundation’s noble effort to improve the community through its charitable work in assisting poor orphans and provide them with proper care, guidance, and support.
“It is important that these children are given proper guidance particularly the education so that they will be on the right direction for the betterment of their life in the future,” he said, adding that he commended the foundation in taking a step in addressing the issue of education-lagging amongst orphans in the State.
Datuk Ismet added that the donation itself was part of UMW Toyota’s philanthropic pillars in the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, where it seeks opportunities to contribute to the communities where they operate.
Yayasan Anak-Anak Yatim Sultanah Haminah (YAASH) is a foundation that was set up in 2011 to aid in the welfare and well-being of underprivileged orphans. These orphans regardless of their academic level are placed in their care and are guided to achieve their potential.
