Two Proton SUVs Coming In 2020, Company Aims To Sell 132k Cars This Year
所有资讯At a recent media event, Proton CEO Dr. Li Chunrong announced that Proton has big ambitions for 2020, which hopes to see the annual sales figures rise to 132k units in 2020.
Ambitious, some might say, but considering the company capped off a stellar 2019, delivering 100,821 units in total, an increase of circa 55 percent over the same period in 2018 – we’d concur that their 2020 goals are not just optimistic speculation.
But how are Proton going to achieve this?
The major growth drivers will be the official introduction of the locally-assembled X70 (CKD), and the launch of the smaller Proton X50 B-Segment SUV, which was also confirmed to come in the second half of 2020.
The Proton X50 is based on the Geely Binyue and will go up against the likes of the Honda HR-V and Mitsubishi ASX.
Elsewhere, sales will be buoyed by the strong resurgence of the Proton Saga, following a comprehensive facelift in 2019, and other strong performing models such as the Exora and Persona.
