Tun Mahathir Seen In A Geely Borui - Potential Perdana Replacement?
所有资讯Just last week, Prime Minister Tun Mahathir Mohamad was seen in a Geely Borui when he was on the way to visit the remains of the late Tan Sri Zainuddin Maidin, who was previously the Information Minister, at Surau At Tarbiah in Taman Melawati.
According to Berita Harian, the Geely Borui could be rebadged as a Proton Perdana in the future.
Positioned as a D-segment model in China, the Geely Borui can be had as a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) or a mild hybrid (MHEV).
The PHEV version of the Borui features a 1.5-litre Drive-E three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), a battery pack, and an electric motor. The Borui PHEV’s combined system output is 257 hp and 425 Nm.
As for the mild hybrid version of the Borui, the powertrain is similar to the PHEV variant, but with a 48V electrical system. This engine is good for 180 hp, while the Integrated Belt Starter Generator (iBSG) contributes another 16 hp and 50 Nm, allowing for a combined system output of 190 hp and 300 Nm.
Prices start from CNY 133,680 (RM82,777) for the mild hybrid variant, while the plug-in hybrid variant carries a base price of CNY 199,800 (RM123,720). The mild hybrid variant’s price tops out at CNY 179,800 (RM111,335), while the plug-in hybrid Borui GE tops out at CNY 232,800 (RM144,154).
