Third National Car Prototype To Be Revealed In 2019

The prototype of the third national car is expected to be revealed in 2019, according to The Edge Markets quoting Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali.

“We will share the prototype with the public soonest next year,” he told reporters at the Parliament earlier today.

According to him, the subject of the third national car project was brought up during the National Development Council meeting that was chaired by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Separately, a report by The Sun Daily quoted International Trade & Industry Ministry Deputy Secretary-General (Industry) Datin K Talagavathi that the government has already shortlisted a few companies for the third national car project.

“We haven’t gone into detailed discussions as yet. There are other agencies that are also going to be involved in this national car project. There will be some announcements soon, so we will be working with them. It is still work in progress,” she said.
