The Proton X50 Bumblebee Accident
所有资讯Malang tidak berbau, the Proton X50 Bumblebee that was the talk of the town not too long was involved in an accident last night.
According to comments on images uploaded on the Facebook page of its owner Lee Jian Xian or more fondly known as Pad Tai the Proton X50 hydroplaned in the wet causing it to hit first the left then the right divider on the highway.
It appears no one was hurt in the accident nor did the accident involve any other vehicles apparently.
With it raining quite heavily in the evenings these past few days, it's important for you to know how to react accordingly while driving in a heavy downpour. We've prepared a guide for you here detailing what to do and a checklist of things you need to be aware of.
We're also glad to see the owner in good spirits after what must have been a scary accident.
In case you were wondering this particular X50 already had the stock 18-inch rims replaced with 20-inch wheels from Veemann, with a width of 8.5JJ, wider than the stock 7JJ factory profile. The rims were shod in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, 235/40 ZR20. The brakes too had been upgraded to 405 mm drilled and ventilated rotors in the front with six-piston Brembo calipers.
Power output was also higher with a piggyback ECU providing an increase of 22 PS and 35 Nm of torque on the dyno. The Proton X50 Flagship in stock form produces 177 PS at 5,000 rpm and 255 Nm of torque from 1,500 to 4,000 rpm.
The Proton X50 Flagship's ADAS system includes:
- Forward Collision Warning
- Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection
- Lane Keep Assist
- Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go
- Auto Park Assist
- Blind Spot Information System
- Intelligent Cruise Control
- Intelligent High Beam Control
Bear in mind though these systems were rated and tested for the original specifications of the Proton X50 Flagship, not for the upgrades that were made on this particular vehicle.
The Proton X50 also obtained the full five-star ASEAN NCAP crash safety rating.
Remember regardless of what cart you drive, how much power your vehicle may have or what active safety systems you may have available, it is ultimately up to us the drivers, to make smart choices while driving.
Drive safe!
