Spyshot: All-New 2017 Mazda CX-5 Is Now In Malaysia

After its global debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show late last year, Mazda has been busy introducing its all-new second-generation CX-5 globally. Mazda's local representative, Bermaz Motor is also geared up to introduce the new model here before year end. 

The 2017 Mazda CX-5 will arrive here in CKD form, skipping the interim CBU phase altogether. Assembly will commence at Mazda Malaysia's plant in Kulim, Kedah.

Exterior wise, we understand that the new 2017 Mazda CX-5 can be had in several new colours, including Soul Red Crystal, Deep Crystal Blue, Machine Grey, Snowflake White Pearl, Sonic Silver and Jet Black. Only two colours will be carried over from the predecessor, namely Arctic White and Meteor Grey. 

Looking at the photos provided, the white Mazda CX-5 is possibly the range-topping variant, wearing 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels all around, LED headlights, front parking sensors and a sunroof. No interior photos were provided.

Powertrain options are expected to be carried over from the existing model, which includes two SkyActiv-G petrol engines, the first being a 2.0-litre unit and the second a 2.5-litre unit. Both engines are mated to a six-speed SkyActiv-Drive automatic transmission.

During the launch of Mazda's GVC models, including the Mazda 3, 6 and CX-3, the company mentioned that the new CX-5 could be launched here in September or October this year.
