The all-new Mazda CX-9 looks ready to be introduced in our market. Our friends at Autoworld.com.my have just published a couple of pictures snapped by readers showing two units of the CX-9 being ferried by a car carrier on Malaysian roads.
Both shots only show the vehicle from the rear.
Officially unveiled at Los Angeles last year, the all-new second-generation CX-9 is the latest member of Mazda’s SkyActiv model family, and the only one to feature a turbocharged petrol engine to replace the current model’s 3.7-litre naturally-aspirated V6. Production commenced in February 2016.
Based upon the same block that underpins the naturally-aspirated 2.5-litre inline-4 engine of the Mazda 6 and CX-5, the CX-9’s SkyActiv-G 2.5T engine is claimed to produce 250PS and 420Nm in North American spec. It features what Mazda calls a Dynamic Pressure Turbo which varies the degree of exhaust pulsation to counteract turbo lag.
Autoworld.com.my’s report additionally mentions rumoured pricing of around RM250k. The outgoing model was priced from RM296201k to RM337k.
