SPIED: All-New 2016 Toyota Fortuner Spotted On Thailand Roads

Scheduled to make its debut in Thailand on 17 July 2015, the all-new 2016 Toyota Fortuner has been sighted once again, this time through a short video uploaded by Cars Guide Thailand that shows the SUV roaming the roads of Thailand.

Earlier spyshots posted online gave us a good look at the Fortuner’s new design both inside and out and the one seen in this video looks the same as well and we can safely confirm its final design with a new-design front fascia featuring slimmer headlamps and additional chrome bits. The rear sees a new tail lamp design as well while the third-row windows are smaller than previously.

Beneath the metal, the next generation Fortuner adopts the Hilux’s FIRM (Frame with Integrated Rigidity Mechanism) platform by Toyota. Its pickup sibling will very likely share its new ‘GD’ lineup of diesel engines with the SUV as well. Those offerings are a 2.4- and 2.8-litre four-cylinder unit mated to either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. As the all-new Hilux was also specified with a 2.7-litre petrol engine as well, the Fortuner may receive this powerplant option as well.

Inside, the cabin gets revised with repositioned air-conditioning vents, new steering wheel, and new instrument cluster. The centre console also receives an update being more vertical with a touchscreen infotainment system and automatic climate control. However, these specifications do differ from market to market, something to keep in mind.
