Several Geely Boyue SUVs Seen Road Testing
所有资讯Proton and Geely engineers are busy road testing the first-ever Proton SUV ahead of its slated debut towards the end of the year, as seen from these photos.
According to the post by our friends over at Careta, several units of the Geely Boyue were seen along some trunk roads somewhere up north. The source also speculated that Proton might actually be allowed to tweak the Boyue’s ride and handling to better suit our road conditions.
If true, we can then expect Proton’s first-ever SUV to strike the best balance between ride comfort and handling, similar to some of their existing models.
Elsewhere, we also noticed that there were several variants of the Geely Boyue undergoing road tests, as seen by the varying daytime running lights (DRLs).
In China, the base Boyue 2.0 gets the bumper-mounted DRLs, while the turbocharged 1.8 models get the DRLs neatly integrated into the headlights. However, this is specific to the China model Boyue, and may not reflect on the Malaysian-spec models.
A couple of weeks back, Proton engineers were seen comparing the Geely Boyue against the current Honda CR-V and previous generation Volkswagen Tiguan, possibly benchmarking the new SUV against its key rivals.
