Renault Megane GT On Display At 2017 MAI Malaysia Autoshow
所有资讯The all-new Renault Megane made its local debut today at the ongoing MAI Malaysia Autoshow at MAEPS in Serdang. A direct rival to the Volkswagen Golf, Ford Focus and Volvo V40, the all-new Megane was first previewed at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, before going on sale a year later.
At the moment, TC Euro Cars, the distributor of Renault vehicles in Malaysia, has no plans to sell the regular Megane hatchback in Malaysia, but the high performance RS variant is still in the plans.
The model seen here is imported from Spain into Malaysia purely for display purposes at the ongoing MAI Malaysia Autoshow, and at selected Renault showrooms later.
Which is a shame because the Megane GT looks really good in metal. In fact, we will even go as far as calling the best looking hatchback in this segment.
This all-new Megane is built on the Renault Nissan Alliance’s CMA platform.
Seen here in GT trim, the Megane GT is powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 205 PS and 280 Nm. It sprints from 0-100 km/h in 7.1 seconds, while claimed fuel consumption is at 6-litre/100 km.
Power is transferred to the front wheels via a 7-speed EDC dual-clutch automatic transmission.
It also features 4-wheel steering, which Renault refers to as 4Control. Depending on the vehicle’s speed, 4Control improves the agility of the car by adjusting the Megane’s rear wheel’s direction to turn either in parallel or opposite direction of the front wheels.
At speeds of less than 80km/h in Sport mode and 60km/h in other modes, the front and rear wheels turn in opposite directions, by up to 2.7 degrees at the back. At higher speeds, the front and rear wheels steer in the same direction, turning by up to one degree at the back, for greater stability. 4CONTROL calculates the angle of the rear wheels 100 times a second and adjusts them as necessary.
The Megane’s chassis has also been tuned by Renault Sport engineers.
Like all Renault cars, the interior is very refined. There’s even LED ambient lighting on the door panels. Renault also claims that the dual density foam ‘haute couture’ sculpted seats are the best in the segment.
Safety is covered by six airbags, with electronic stability and traction control.
