Ranger Continues to Power Ford’s Monthly Sales

The Ranger continues to play its virtuoso role in almost single-handedly carrying Ford’s monthly sales numbers in Malaysia.

Selling 796 units in total throughout the month of June, the Ranger helped drive a 32 percent increase in Ford’s monthly sales total from May to 928 units. In total, Ford sold 3,539 units of the Ranger in the first six months of 2016.

“The Ranger has truly redefined the pickup market in Malaysia, and many customers are happily using it as both a workhorse and a leisure vehicle,” said David Westerman, managing director, Malaysia and Asia Pacific Emerging Markets, Ford Motor Company.

Available with powerful 2.2- and 3.2-litre turbodiesel engines, the Ranger is offered in Malaysia with a total of six variants priced between RM91,588 and RM139,838. Recently, prices of all but the most affordable XL variant were increased by RM2,350 each.

Whilst costing more than its rivals, the Ranger is also the best-equipped truck with regards to safety; offering up to six airbags as well as Lane Keeping Aid and Adaptive Cruise Control in upper models. All variants come standard with Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and ISOFIX mounts. The Ranger is also the first pick-up truck in the market to use electric power steering.

June also marked the start of deliveries of the all-new Mustang to customers, offered in our market with either the 2.3-litre turbocharged EcoBoost four-cylinder or 5.0-litre V8 petrol engines.
