Petron Fuels The 2018 Rainforest Challenge Grand Finale In Kelantan

The 2018 Rainforest Challenge (RFC) Grand Finale in Malaysia, which is one of the world’s top 10 off-road events in the world, just drew its curtains last week and powering it this year was none other than Petron.

As the official fuel sponsor and engine oil partner, Petron fueled more than 150 4x4 vehicles which were piloted by 300 off-road driving enthusiasts from 30 nations around the world, who were competing against the odds in Malaysia’s dense tropical rainforest.

The fuel of choice was Petron Turbo Diesel Euro 5, which is formulated to improve engine performance, ensure better fuel economy, and extend engine life. 

It has much lower Sulphur content (10 parts per million), and is 50 times cleaner than Euro 2M diesel, helping reduce exhaust emissions and withstand the extreme heat of today’s fuel injection systems.

Complementing the Turbo Diesel Euro 5 in the 150 vehicles was the Petron Rev-X Engine Oil, which protects the engine with Dynamic Cleaning Technology (DC Tech) to keep the engine clean for improved wear protection and smoother operations.

The event, which was flagged off on 24 November at Dataran Redha, Kota Bharu, took the participants from Kota Bahru, Tanah Merah, Kuala Krai and ended in Gua Musang, Kelantan.

Stages of the race, which were were named Predator, Terminator and Twilight Zone, required all participants to navigate through endless steep down-hill and uphill terrains, cross narrow bridges and tropical swamps, steer around mud pools, and cut across the mighty river in Bering.

Having said that, the RFC Malaysia is the finale of the RFC Global Series (RFCGS) which is a worldwide off-road racing circuit spanning 22 nations with 45 events.
