Perodua Sales Goes Sky High As Recovery Continues
所有资讯Perodua vehicle deliveries continued to improve for three consecutive months by 102% to 14,160 units in September from 6,988 units in August as the supply situation gradually improves.
"The automotive supply chain has shown improvements but have yet to reach their full potential. We are continuously working with our suppliers and dealers to further improve productivity and safety," said Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer, Dato' Zainal Abidin.
He explained that despite the gradual growth in production and sales, Perodua has ensured that vehicles produced were accompanied by strict quality surveillance measures in Perodua's operations. This is to ensure customer satisfaction and the production of well-built vehicles.
"We would like to thank our customers for their patience as we are now increasing production," said Zainal.
From the perspective of vehicles sold year-to-date, Perodua has sold 119,093 vehicles between January and September 2021 compared to 145,012 units in the same period of 2020.
Compared to the second quarter of this year to the third quarter, sales declined by 44.6% to 21,803 units between July and September from 39,381 vehicles registered between April and June this year.
That plummet in sales was due to the second nationwide movement restriction (MCO), which began on 1 June 2021 and ended in stages starting 16 August 2021.
The outlook for the fourth quarter of 2021 provides a better forecast than the previous two quarters, especially given the significant increase in the reduction of COVID-19 cases nationwide and the vaccination rate approaching 90 percent of Malaysia's adult population.
