Nissan Motor Thailand has just launched the all-new Terra in the Kingdom, available across three variants.

Set to compete in the pickup passenger vehicle (PPV) segment, the all-new Terra rides on a ladder frame platform similar to its rivals like the Ford Everest, Isuzu MU-X, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Toyota Fortuner, and Chevrolet Trailblazer.

Power for the Thai-made Terra is derived from a newly-developed 2.3-litre twin-turbo diesel codenamed YS23, producing 190 hp and 450 Nm. The YS23 unit is different from the engines found in Terra models sold in Indonesia and Philippines, as those countries soldier on with the older 2.5-litre YD25 engine.

One key difference between both engines is how soon the full 450 Nm of torque is served, as the new YS23’s maximum torque is available from a lot 1,500 rpm till 2,500 rpm. The older YD25 needs to spin up to 2,000 rpm before the maximum torque is achived.

Depending on the variant, all 190 hp and 450 Nm is channeled to the front or all-four wheels.

Three variants of the all-new Terra are available in Thailand:

  • V 2WD
  • VL 2WD
  • VL 4WD

All variants of the all-new Terra feature these as standard equipment:

  • LED headlights with LED DRLs
  • Automatic headlights
  • 18-inch alloy wheels
  • Six airbags
  • Keyless entry with push start button
  • Dual-zone automatic air-conditioning
  • 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system

  • 6 speakers
  • Rear seat arm rest
  • ABS, EBD, and Brake Assist
  • Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC)
  • Hill Start Assist (HSA)
  • Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)

The more expensive Terra VL 2WD adds:

  • Around View Monitor (AVM)
  • Blind Spot Warning (BSW)
  • Moving Object Detection (MOD)
  • Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
  • Built-in navigation system

Last but not least, the Terra VL 4WD comes with:

  • Rear differential lock
  • Hill Descent Control (HDC)
  • 4WD on-the-fly shift
  • Brown leather seats

Prices start from THB 1.316 million (~RM 162,777) for the V 2WD, while the VL 2WD will set buyers back for THB 1.349 million (~RM 166,859). The range-topping VL 4WD costs THB 1.427 million (~RM 176,507).
