Next Generation Lexus LS To Adopt V8 Turbo?
所有资讯The fifth-generation Lexus LS will reportedly make its debut at this year’s Tokyo Motor Show in October and details have emerged on the type of powertrain which will be utilised by the Japanese carmaker’s flagship model which goes up against its German rivals.
Japanese publication Mag-X (through Lexus Enthusiasts) reports the next generation Lexus LS will be powered by a 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, paired to a ten-speed Aisin gearbox, possible spawning the Lexus LS 250t. A hybrid model could also be in the works, made to go up against BMW’s latest 740e PHEV and Mercedes-Benz S 300 BlueTEC Hybrid.
IndianAutosBlog also reports the possibility of a high-performance variant of the LS, aimed at the Mercedes-Benz S 63 AMG and Audi S8, which would certainly adopt a larger engine than mentioned above - a V8 turbo in the F-Sport with displacement below 5.5 litres.
