New Lexus ES To Debut In Auto Shanghai 2015

A new Lexus ES will be making its world premiere at the Auto Shanghai 2015 motor show on April 20.

Lexus did not share any further information on the new ES. The sole teaser image released by Lexus suggests that the facelift ES will have a significantly sportier character. Lexus' signature spindle grille has been revised to look sharper, highlighted by bolder lines around edges, while the signature daytime running light pattern has also been made sharper.

The Lexus ES is a unique model in the entry-level luxury sedan segment. It is priced closer to a BMW 3-series/Mercedes-Benz C-Class but its compact front wheel drive mechanicals and Toyota Avalon underpinnings (current generation ES no longer uses the Camry's platform) means that its interior space is actually closer to a BMW 7-series/Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
