New 2017 Proton Iriz Detailed

We already reported that Proton will be introducing a new Iriz with improvements and enhancements from the Persona. More details have since emerged, however, through our friends at Funtasticko who have just reported on several new details on the car covering its interior and line-up particulars.

From the outside, the new Proton Iriz 1.6 Premium CVT will receive the dual tone colour mentioned in our earlier story, with black paint featured on the roof, side mirrors, front grille and rear spoiler. LED daytime running lights are present, on top of the new anti-trap windows and automatic folding side mirrors. 

As for the 1.3 Executive, this model receives a new rear spoiler plus front fog lights. Wheel size remains at 14-inches. Furthermore, the dual-tone colour scheme is said to be only exclusive to the range-topping Iriz 1.6 Premium. Carnelian Brown, for the first time, is offered on the Iriz.

Moving inside, our friends at Funtasticko reported that the range-topping Iriz 1.6 Premium CVT will get new seat upholstery with leather and fabric plus red stitching. Fabric upholstery remains for the Iriz 1.3 variants, including the Executive and Standard. The ECO indicator that debuted on the Persona is also likely to find its way to the new Iriz. 

Other improvements include the new three point engine mount, aimed to reduce engine and transmission vibrations from entering the cabin. The cabin of new Iriz is also said to be quieter over its predecessor thanks to additional sound-proofing materials, though that is said to add another 10 kg to the Iriz. Last but not least is the new TCU software from the Persona.
