MINI Malaysia has just introduced the New 2021 MINI 3 Door, 5 Door, and Convertible.

MINI Malaysia has updated its models with comprehensive and progressive updates, as the
brand transitions into its next-generation design language.

Exterior

The New MINIs arrive with a new progressive look thanks to a new front end design, characteristic side scuttles, and a redesigned rear apron. The new models also get unique signature lightweight alloy wheels, new MINI specific exterior colours, a redesigned steering wheel, interior surfaces, and air outlets.

Know for their quirky and fun design, the 2021 MINIs do not disappoint as the new models now have a sleek front grille that forms a single unbroken hexagon. The grille extends all the way to the bottom of the front end and serves as a dominating look to anyone seeing in their rearview mirror. Within the front hexagon also sits the safety bar, hidden behind the body. All models also come with new front bumpers with fog lights replaced with the integration of air curtains for improved aerodynamics and LED headlights with new inner housing in High Gloss Black. 

The new models are distinguishable by the latest shiny, and bright Piano Black exterior accents, located at the door handles, exhaust tailpipes, MINI logos, model badges and fuel lid in black, further complemented by the modernised side scuttle with LED indicators and model-specific inserts. Towards the rear, the bumper is now wider than ever and emphasises the wider stance and sportiness of the new models, along with the new rear fog lamps styled in a centred LED light. 

Interior

The inside has been redesigned too. The new models are equipped with MINI's latest steering wheel that features horizontal spokes and buttons that are integrated on an even surface with a Piano Black finish. The cockpit decor panel geometry is now refreshed with enlarged decor parts and new decor designs. The inner and outer air vents have been modernised as well and are integrated into the cockpit fascia.

If you think the newness ends there, you would be wrong as the 2021 MINIs also get a new generation central instrument cluster with a new Piano Black high-gloss surround. This infotainment system features a larger 8.8-inch display with Navigation and Apple CarPlay and modern graphics that now become standard in the New MINI models. 

A new digital meter cluster with a 5.0-inch colour display screen that also uses black panel technology displays all relevant driving information, with configurable live widgets and two colour schemes: Lounge and Sport. The new MINI Ambient Light with six different colours is also available to round off the refreshed interior atmosphere of the new models.

Powertrain

The new MINIs are powered by a 2.0-litre 4-Cylinder MINI TwinPower Turbo Engine. The engine is mated to a 7-Speed Dual Clutch Automatic Transmission that delivers up to 192HP and 280Nm of torque. The 2021 MINI 3 Door has a top speed of 235km/h and can make the century sprint in 6.7 seconds, whereas the 2021 MINI 5 Door has a top speed of 230km/h and can go 0-100km/h in 6.8 seconds. The Convertible is not as fast as its brethren as it goes from 0 to 100km/h in 7.1 seconds. The 3 and 5 door MINI consume 6-litres of fuel for every 100 kilometres.

Driving Assistance

The 2021 MINIs are equipped with the latest driving assistant as standard. Consisting of the digital high-beam assistant, speed limit information, person warning with light city braking function and approach control warning with light city braking function. The Driving Assistant system for the new models will also come with parking assistance and lane departure warning, which is new to the MINI family line-up and is now a standard across all new MINI models. 

The new feature helps the driver stay safely on the chosen course at speeds between 70 and 210 km/h. To prevent unintentional lane departure, the system registers markings at the edge of the lane and alerts the driver if there is a risk of deviation by vibrating the steering wheel.

Drivers and owners will now also have greater digital interaction with the car via the new MINI App that provides easy access to a wide range of remote services, on-the-go navigation, and e-Mobility features. In addition to the digital instrument cluster, teleservices, MINI Online, intelligent emergency call, remote services, and telephony with wireless charging are also standard across all variants.

Colour options

The 2021 3 Door and 5 Door MINI is available in White Silver, Island Blue, Chili Red, British Racing Green and Rooftop Grey, complete with Jet Black Roof and Black Bonnet Stripes. The Convertible on the other hand is available in the exclusive Zesty Yellow, White Silver, Island Blue, Chili Red, and British Racing Green, complete with MINI Yours Softtop.

The New MINI 3 Door, MINI 5 Door and MINI Convertible are covered by MINI Malaysia’s 5 Years Roadside Assistance programme, available for all New MINI vehicles with a comprehensive list of services that include a 24-Hour, 365-days-a-year Accident and Help on the Phone and On the Spot Hotline, Free Towing Services and when needed (over 200KM from residential home), Replacement Vehicle, Seamless Mobility, Accommodation, Mobility Services Solutions as well as Repatriation services.
