Mercedes-AMG Announces New GT 43 Variant – 367 hp, 500 Nm

Mercedes-AMG has just announced a new entry-level variant to the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe lineup which is the AMG GT 43.

Powering the new AMG GT 43 is a 3.0-litre bi-turbo straight-six shared with its larger GT 53 sibling, though now with 367 hp and 500 Nm, as opposed to the GT 53’s 435 hp and 520 Nm. The engine’s output is further supplemented by an Integrated Starter/Generator (ISG) with 22 hp and 250 Nm.

All that 367 hp and 500 Nm are deployed efficiently to all four wheels via the company’s 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system and an AMG Speedshift 9-speed automatic, allowing for a century sprint of just 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 270 km/h.

Visually the AMG GT 43 carries over elements from its more powerful siblings, including the signature Panamericana grille, quad muffler tips, AMG body kit, and an adaptive rear spoiler, albeit with a slightly toned-down design.

The new entry-level AMG GT 43 is priced from EUR 95,000 for folks in Germany, inclusive of 19% VAT.
