Land Rover Discovery Sport Now Comes With Ingenium 2.0L Engine – 240PS, RM379,800

Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia has announced the introduction of the updated Land Rover Discovery Sport with a new Ingenium 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine.

Paired with ZF’s nine-speed automatic transmission which sends power to the wheels via a four-wheel drive system, the Discovery produces 240 PS at 5,500 rpm and 340 Nm of maximum torque at 1,250 rpm.

The Discovery Sport’s 4WD system also features a Terrain Response system which allows the driver to select different driving modes depending on the surface the vehicle is on.

Performance wise, the Land Rover Discovery Sport is capable of doing the century sprint in 7.6 seconds and clock a top speed of 200km/h, while consuming a claimed 8L of fuel for 100 km.

Featuring lightweight aluminium chassis components the Discovery Sport comes with 5-seats as standard, but it is also configurable to 5+2 seating as an option, which is unique in this segment according to Jaguar Land Rover.

The suspension setup on the other hand comprises coil springs with steel lower control arms and aluminium suspension knuckles up front, while a compact multi-link axle is fitted in the rear.

While key exterior features include xenon headlamps with LED DRLs, automatic headlamps and wipers, a powered tailgate, and 19-inch alloy wheels, interior equipment includes the InControl Touch Pro infotainment system which comprises a HD 8-inch touchscreen and a 10-speaker Meridian premium sound system.

Besides that, there is a 5-inch colour TFT instrument cluster display, 7 airbags, 12-way powered seats with memory function, automatic climate control, leather upholstery, keyless entry and ignition, as well as GPS.

Priced at RM379,800 OTR without insurance, the updated Discovery Sport is offered with with a 5-years/150,000 km warranty, 5-years /65,000 km servicing, and 3-year Roadside Assistance.
