We wouldn't want to imagine what's on Anthony Loke's plate right now, because in the past few days, we've seen him announce some of the most crucial changes in local transportation affairs. On top of announcing the changes in private vehicle road tax policy and the repurposing of Subang Airport, Transport Minister, Anthony Loke once again makes the front page as he announced that KLIA 1 and KLIA 2 might be rebranded into Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. According to The Star, the move was expected to take place after the inking of a new comprehensive agreement between the government and Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) by the first quarter of this year. Loke said the proposal was part of the major reforms to relieve the burden on the government to build new airports or to upgrade existing ones. The agreement between both parties covers operations, management, maintenance and development of 39 airports and airfields in the country, including the ones in east Malaysia. Apparently the agreement will last until 2069. He said that the rebranding might take some time as there were also administrative matters to be sorted out with relevant authorities, such as informing the changes with the International Civil Aviation Organisation and the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
