Jakarta 2018: All-New Honda Brio Launched

Honda Prospect Motor (HPM), the official distributor of Honda vehicles in Indonesia has launched the all-new second generation Brio at the 2018 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (2018 GIIAS).

Seeing that the all-new Brio conforms to Indonesia’s Low Cost Green Car (LCGC) regulations, power is derived from a tiny 1.2-litre that churns out 90 PS at 6,000 rpm and 110 Nm at 4,800 rpm. The tiny engine can be had with a 5-speed manual or CVT-type automatic that sends drive to the front wheels.

Visually, the all-new Brio draws inspiration from the new Mobilio, with a pair of large headlights flanking Honda’s Solid Wing face grille. A pair of prominent front fog light surrounds help complete the front end of the all-new Brio.

Towards the rear end, the all-new Brio features a pair of trapezoid-shaped tail lights. The regular Brio features a simple recess at the bottom of the rear bumper.

As for the sportier Brio RS, this model gets a black finish on the front grille and roof, plus a rear spoiler that is more noticeable than the regular model. Completing the Brio RS’ exterior are dual-tone alloy wheels and a more aggressive rear diffuser.

The interior of the all-new Brio is reminiscent of the Honda BR-V we’re familiar with. Audio switches are found on the left side of the three-spoke steering wheel, though this feature is limited to upper variants of the all-new Brio. Other interior features include a 6.1-inch Display Audio head unit, tweeters, and digital air-conditioning controls.
