Honda Malaysia Reveals HR-V Mugen Edition – RM119k, Limited To 1,020 Units

Honda Malaysia today introduced the HR-V Mugen Edition, featuring a range of cosmetic enhancements over the 1.8 V variant.

Limited to only 1,020 units, the HR-V Mugen Edition is priced at RM118,800 OTR without insurance.   

It is the third Honda model to offer the Mugen package after the Civic Concept Mugen 2.0 limited edition which was introduced in 2006, and the Concept M models of the Civic and Jazz introduced in 2010.

The list of enhancements on the HR-V Mugen includes 9 items - a front under spoiler, rear under spoiler, side under spoiler, tailgate spoiler, unique Mugen decal, Mugen gearbox emblem, Mugen exterior emblem, Mugen front grille, and Mugen carpet mats.

Offered in two colour options – Dark Ruby Red Pearl and White Orchid Pearl (additional RM300) - the HR-V Mugen Edition’s body kit is only offered with the car and cannot be purchased separately by existing owners. 

According to Honda Malaysia, the HR-V Mugen Edition is a result of customers' feedback requesting for sportier and stylish appearance to complement the practicality of the HR-V.

Since its launch in February 2015, more than 65,000 units have been registered as of January 2018.

The HR-V even emerged as the second best-selling model for Honda Malaysia in 2017, contributing to 17% out of the overall sales and remained in the lead position in the compact SUV segment.

Powering the compact SUV is a 1.8L i-VTEC SOHC engine paired with Honda's Earth Dreams CVT-type gearbox, producing 142 PS and 172 Nm of maximum torque.
