Honda Malaysia has announced that its Completely Knock-Down (CKD) Hybrid vehicles have reached a significant milestone of 10,000 units sold in Malaysia. The 10,000th unit, a City Hybrid, was recently delivered to its proud owner, Mr. Saddam Hassan Bin Abdul Salim at Macinda Auto S.B.

Honda Malaysia introduced its first hybrid model locally, the Civic Hybrid, in 2004 - in line with the Government’s agenda of promoting green technology. Then in 2012, Honda Malaysia rolled out the very first locally-assembled Jazz Hybrid at the Pegoh Plant in Alor Gajah, the first Non-National manufacturer to produce hybrid vehicles locally. Malaysia is the third country after Japan and the United States to manufacture/assemble a Honda hybrid vehicle.

From the 10,000 units of CKD Hybrid vehicles sold, the Jazz Hybrid achieved highest sales at over 6,000 units followed by City Hybrid with more than 3,400 units sold. The latest model in the Hybrid line-up, the HR-V Hybrid, has racked up sales of 670 units as of June 2019.

Honda Malaysia continues to lead as the only country outside of Japan to introduce the Sport Hybrid i-DCD system following the introductions of the City Hybrid and Jazz Hybrid in 2017, and HR-V Hybrid earlier this year.
