Geely Begins Work On New Lotus Plant In China

Zhejiang Geely Holding (ZGH) has begun construction on a new 9 billion Yuan production plant in Wuhan, Hubei.

When the new plant goes online in 2021, it will be assembling a range of high-end vehicles, including models from Lotus. Lotus vehicles are currently built in Norfolk, England and the Wuhan plant will be the company’s first production plant outside of the UK.

According to Autonews, the new Wuhan plant is capable of assembling 150,000 conventional and electrified vehicles annually.

While the new plant is responsible for assembling Lotus vehicles, Geely did not mention what other vehicles will the new Wuhan plant assemble.
