BMW (G30) 5 Series Sedan and Touring Tuning Package By AC Schnitzer

The established BMW tuning company AC Schnitzer (ACS), like clockwork, has rolled out its version of the all-new BMW G30 5 Series, applicable for both sedan and touring models.

These upgraded versions come just five months after the debut of the all-new model generation and feature not just styling tweaks, but a bump in power and driving performance. It even comes with a 5-year warranty when ordered in Europe.

Under the hood, AC Schnitzer has optimised the engine mapping, bumping power in the 540i’s turbocharged, 3.0-litre inline-six from 340hp to 400hp, while the 530d turbo diesel ACS model develops 315hp, from the original 265hp. Similar tuning packages are being developed for the M550i, 530i and 520d models.

As for the exhaust system, all petrol-engine models will be offered with steel silencers, each with two chromed or black "Sport" tailpipes. Diesel models receive chromed or black "Quad Sport" tailpipes in right/left combination. ACS also supplies a sound module with a remote control to increase the engine roar within the cabin space.

AC Schnitzer’s suspension spring kit lowers the vehicle by around 25 mm at the front and around 20 mm at the rear compared to the standard vehicle, claimed to offer no drawbacks in terms of ride comfort of the standard car.

AC Schnitzer'aesthetic upgrades include a front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser rear roof spoiler and rear spoiler for the sedan model, the Touring also receives rear roof wing which provides both additional downforce and reduces drag – the styling kit works with BMW's M-Technik exterior pack for both body styles. A carbon racing rear wing will shortly also be available for the saloon.

On the inside, AC Schnitzer supplies the aluminium pedal set for vehicles with manual and automatic transmission, aluminium foot rest, velours foot mats and a suave looking "Black Line" cover for the BMW iDrive controller.

Customers naturally have a wide variety of wheel designs to choose from – the 'AC1' design (featured below), available in staggered and non-staggered versions, in 19- or 20-inch sizes, finished in BiColour or Anthracite colours, or 'Type VIII' alloys, available in similar sizes and finishes.
