Audi Bags ‘Most Innovative Premium Brand’ Award

Over 1,400 innovations from more than 50 brands were nominated for various categories at the Automotive Innovations Award which was concluded recently in Frankfurt, Germany, where Audi won the most important award of the night – ‘The Most Innovative Premium Brand’ award.

The German automaker was also awarded for its innovations in the “Connected Car” and “Vehicle Concepts/Body” categories. With three awards in total, Audi was second only to Volkswagen, which won a total of four awards at the event.

In addition, the brand also finished second in two categories - “Conventional Drives” and “Alternative Drives” - to go with a third-place finish for the Q7 in the “Innovation Strongest Model” category.

“These awards are both praise and motivation for our team,” said Dr. Stefan Knirsch, member of the Audi AG Board of Management for Technical Development. “We are an innovation driver for classic and alternative drive systems, lightweight construction and production processes, connectivity, driver assistance and piloted driving – and we are working continuously to maintain our ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’.”

Running for the fifth time this year, the Automotive Innovations Award was organised by The Center of Automotive Management and PricewaterhouseCoopers AG.
