All-New DS7 Crossback Launched In Malaysia – RM199,888

Naza Euro Motors, the official distributor for DS vehicles in Malaysia today officially launched the DS7 Crossback SUV.

The DS7 Crossback is the flagship model for Citroen’s upmarket sub-brand, DS, and is based on Groupe PSA’s EMP2 platform that also underpins other products such as the Peugeot 308 and 5008 SUV.

First previewed at the 2018 KLIMS expo, the DS7 is offered in one variant: the DS7 Performance Line priced at RM199,888; OTR exclusive of insurance.

Power comes from a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine capable of producing 165 PS and 240 Nm of torque at 1,400 rpm. Power is sent to the front wheels through a six-speed automatic gearbox.

The Crossback introduces several DS trademark highlights – at the front, the vertical DS Wings features a newly-designed diamond-shaped radiator grille, with the DS emblem at its centre, set in a hexagonal frame. The DS7 Crossback features full-LED headlamps and uniquely designed full-LED tailamps which feature a 3D diamond-like signature. Full-LED rear tailamps are also standard fare.

The Performance Line package adds 19-inch “Beijing” diamond-cut alloys wheels and subtle badging.

The diamond theme continues on the inside as well, with much of the intricate detailing of the dashboard components and switchgear. The DS7 Crossback also features the same ‘joystick’ gearknob as the Peugeot 508 sedan. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster touchscreen works in tandem with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit replete with a wireless charging dock.

Other notable highlights are Apple Carplay connectivity, a 14-speaker Focal Electra sound system and an analog clock made by watchmakers, B.R.M.

In terms of safety, the Citroen DS7 is equipped with 6-airbags, ABS, EBD, Stability Control, and a Driver Attention Alert system.

The DS7 Crossback is offered in three colours: Platinum Grey, Absolute Red, and Nera Black, replete with a 5-year or 120,000 km manufacturer’s warranty (whichever comes first), and a three-year roadside assistance service.
