All-New Audi A1 Sportback Breaks Cover - 3 Variants, Petrol Only

Audi has finally rolled out the all-new A1 Sportback after eight years, featuring a new platform, fresh look, new features, and a wide range of personalisation options.

In terms of size, the new A1 measures 4,030 mm in length, 1,430 mm in height, and 1,740 mm in width, which is 56 mm longer and 10 mm lower than before. Boot space has also increased by 65 litres to 335 litres, which can be expanded to 1,090 litres.

Drawing design cues from the Ur-Quattro and Sport Quattro, key exterior features on the new A1 include a low-placed single-frame grille, flat slits under the edge of the hood, a flat sloping C-pillar, a low shoulder line, and dark tinted LED lights.

Those who opt for the S line equipment will get additional features like larger air inlets, additional sill trims, an elongated slit below the hood with two fins, a larger rear wing, and twin tailpipes. The wheels are available either between 15 and 18-inch options depending on trim.

Inside, Audi claims that the cabin is much more spacious than before, and that adults can enjoy plenty of head and leg room despite the compact exterior dimensions and the sporty roof line.

For the first time, customers can combine exterior and interior lines however they like. Depending on the variant basic, advanced or S line, Audi is additionally affording customers numerous possibilities to mix and match colors and materials. Owners can also add an optional contour and ambient lighting package with more than 30 selectable colours.

Offered as standard are the fully digital instrument cluster with a HD 10.25-inch display, the multifunction steering wheel, and the Audi MMI radio.

Meanwhile options include Audi’s virtual cockpit, MMI navigation plus which comes with a 10.1-inch MMI touchscreen, hybrid route guidance, Audi smartphone interface, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, wireless charging, and an additional USB-C port.  

Driver assistance systems in the Audi A1 Sportback include lane departure warning, a speed limiter, Audi pre-sense front, adaptive speed assist, a reverse camera, ultrasonic parking sensors, and park assist.  

Powering the all-new Audi A1 will be a choice of petrol engines with output ranging between 95 hp and 200 hp, paired to either a 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission, a 6-speed manual, or a 6-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission.  Turbocharging, direct injection and a particulate filter are standard. Other engine details will be announced closer to its launch date.

That being said, the all-new Audi A1 Sportback is all set to be arriving at showrooms around the world later this year.
