All-New 2017 Kia Rio Launched, Priced From RM79,888

Naza Kia Malaysia, the official distributor of Kia vehicles in Malaysia, has launched the all-new fourth-generation Kia Rio in Malaysia. Only one trim level is being offered at launch, with power coming from a 1.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine.

Despite its similar capacity, this is not a carried over engine from its predecessor. The previous model's 1,396 cc engine was from the Gamma family, whilst the new model's 1,368 cc powerplant is from the Kappa family. The naturally-aspirated port-injected engine produces 100 PS and 133 Nm. Outputs are sent to the front wheels via a 4-speed automatic transmission.

Standard equipment for the Kia Rio includes:

• LED rear combination lights
• Sunroof
• 17-inch alloy wheels
• Automatic air-conditioning with Cluster Ionizer
• 5-inch floating-type infotainment system with Bluetooth 
• Keyless entry with push start button

Space wise, the new Kia Rio features 4 mm more headroom for rear passengers, 8 mm more legroom up front and 4 mm more legroom at the rear. Sholder room is 25 mm more up front and 31 mm more for the rear passengers. 

In terms of safety, the 2017 Kia Rio comes with 6 airbags, rear seat ISOFIX mounts, speed sensing and impact sensing auto door locks, ABS with ESC, automatic rain sensor, rear parking sensors with reverse camera, Hill-Start Assist Control and Vehicle Stability Management (VSM).

The 2017 Kia Rio can be had in four colours – Clear White, Signal Red, Smoke Blue and Silky Silver.
