All-New 2016 Kia Sportage Leaks Online Ahead Of Frankfurt Debut

Having only just teased its design sketches online, Kia’s all-new Sportage has seemingly made an accidental full debut on social media, following pictures of it being leaked on Facebook.

While the front and rear images here tell a lot about the new SUV, inside is where Kia says it is bringing its latest and greatest stuff to. Consider that a bit of a consolation, leaving some things left to be revealed only come the Frankfurt Motor Show (or, maybe not, following the recent update, see below).

As expected, this thing looks far more docile than the aggressive sketches shared earlier. The signature Tiger Nose grille is present is a big way, with Kia’s four-point LED daytime running lights feature on each end – something you can also find on the Kia Optima K5 in Malaysia.

Around the back, the rear wing looks highly reminiscent to that of the Mazda CX-5s, while the overall tail-gate design does look a lot like something you’d find on a BMW X model, wouldn’t you say?

There’s also a host of new engines due to fall in to power the all-new Sportage, including a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol unit, an updated 1.6-litre one, and a 2.0-litre turbocharged variant – all part of the Hyundai Motor Group’s T-GDi engine family.
