2018 (F87) BMW M2 Coupe Black Shadow Launched

BMW has introduced the (F87) BMW M2 Black Shadow, an updated edition of the M2 that celebrates the global success of the model, which has garnered sales of over 12,000 units in its first year of production, to become the “M” division's most successful model.

The Black Shadow is spiffed-up with an array of design features to further underscore the car’s sporting credentials and exclusivity.

The Black Shadow is offered exclusively with the Sapphire Black metallic colour, and is fitted with 19-inch, matt-black forged light alloys wheels with a Y-spoke design.

The kidney grille and grille bars are finished in high-gloss black, while the side mirror and rear diffuser are fitted with carbon “finish” items. Likewise, the M double tailpipes, on both sides of the rear bumper have black-chrome trimming for an added touch of aggression.

The Black Shadow also features some black “race inspired” accents dotted around the car.

There are no updates to the drivetrain, which features a 3.0-litre direct-injected, turbocharged, inline-six engine which delivers 370 hp at 6,500rpm and 465 Nm of torque at 1,400 rpm. The engine is mated to a seven-speed “M” dual-clutch transmission. The M2 is capable of sprinting from 0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds and has an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h.

The BMW M2 Black Edition is slated to go on sale in Europe starting April 2018.
