2015 Volvo S60 Facelift Introduced In Malaysia: New Design & Tech From RM222k
购买指南Volvo Car Malaysia has officially introduced its new 2015 Volvo S60 sedan. Available in two engine variants, the Swedish looker carries forward all of its powertrain and underpinnings in its 1.6-litre turbocharged T4, and 2.0-litre turbocharged T5, but introduces some of the company’s latest tech developments, and of course, a new look.
- Volvo S60 T4: RM221,888 (OTR with insurance)
- Volvo S60 T5: RM268,888 (OTR with insurance)
So what’s new?
The most obvious change in the car is of course its new looks; most noticeably at the front. The headlamps, bonnet, front grille and bumper have all been reworked to the same theme of the XC60 facelift we saw not too long ago. The horizontal lines that run across the bonnet are more pronounced, and the treatment has been applied around the rear as well.
Not much has changed inside the cabin of the S60 apart from the addition of a new eight-inch Adaptive Digital Display instrument cluster (only T5) – also something we’ve seen (and liked) on the Volvo V40 and XC60 before.
Many safety systems in the S60 have been upgraded/ improved to Volvo’s latest advancements, but new additions to the model include:
- Active High Beam Control (T5 only)
- Cross Traffic Alert (T4 & T5)
- Road Sign Information (reads traffic signs, for T5 only)
Locally-assembled, the Volvo S60 T4 will carry forward its previous price tag of RM221,888, while the T5 gets an RM7,000 increase over the previous version’s asking.
Engines are status quo for now, with the T4 running a 180hp, 240Nm of torque 1.6-litre turbo petrol, and the T5 packing more of a punch with 240hp and 320Nm of torque from its 2.0-litre turbo petrol four-pot. Both vehicles also feature thhe Ford-derived six-speed Powershift dual-clutch automatic transmission.
A further bodykit can be specified at your local authorised dealership, while Volvo’s five-year warranty, free service and Volvo-On-Call service is already included in the price (T&Cs do apply).
