2015 Mazda MX-5 Prices For Malaysia Revealed: From RM227k

The all-new Mazda MX-5 has been making waves in the international scene, and it’s nearly time for Malaysians to get in on the action themselves: yes, the highly-acclaimed roadster is going to make its big local debut this Friday (21^st, Aug).

Just ahead of that, though, Bermaz (official distributor) has understandably released a specifications sheet of the all-new MX-5 SkyActiv to its dealerships, which equally understandably, can hardly wait to get it up and selling already.

One dealership from Sg. Besi has gone ahead and revealed it, which pretty much sums up the car’s prices and specifications. Although we won’t outright vouch for the 100% authenticity of this, we know this dealership to have come good for us several times in the past, keeping us informed of things way ahead of time, with solid accuracy.

First up, and the most important bit we imagine, prices. RM 226,376 (OTR with insurance) is what you’ll have to cough up for the sole CBU MX-5 roadster variant.

Power wise, potential buyers may be happy to know that it’s the SkyActiv-G 2.0-litre engine that makes its way here, and while no clear indication of which transmission will be offered, a quick glance at the spec sheet reveals that paddle shifters are included, which is a giveaway of the SkyActive-DRIVE six-speed torque converter automatic transmission. If or not the six-speed manual will be offered, we can’t say just yet.

Other initial specifications have been revealed as well, key of which include the following (again, do treat this as a tentative arrangement, while we wait on official news by Bermaz):

• Smart Keyless Entry with Engine Push Start System
• i-Stop (idling stop technology)
• i-Eloop
• MZD Connect 7-inch LCD display screen + Commander Control knob
• BOSE 9-speaker sound system
• Leather-Wrapped Steering Wheel with Paddle Shifters
• Adaptive Front-Lighting System
• Lane Departure Warning System
• Traction Control System + Dynamic Stability Control
• ABS + EBD + BA
