12,444 Nissan Vehicles Recalled In Malaysia For Airbag Inflator Issue
购买指南Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM), the distributor of Nissan vehicles in Malaysia, has just announced a recall for 12,444 units in the country for a fix of their airbag inflator module.
Just like the recalls made by Honda Malaysia and UMW Toyota Motor which came over a month ago, ETCM are contacting customers to come in for a similar replacement of the front passenger airbag inflator module.
Affected Models:
As we understand, only three models in particular have been affected by the recall, with a majority of them being the locally-assembled (CKD) 2002-2007 Nissan X-Trail (T30), which has a total of 12,420 units affected (manufactured between 1 May 2002 to March 2007).
The 2003 Nissan Liberty, a long discontinued MPV, made the recall list with 20 fully-imported (CBU) units affected (manufactured in 2003).
The remaining four affected units are made up of the 2004 Nissan Teana (manufactured August 2004 to September 2004).
A call to vehicle owners:
Should you own any one of these listed models, ETCM will be contacting you soon for a free check and replacement of the front passenger airbag inflator module. Alternatively, owners may contact Tan Chong Express Auto Service Centre (TCEAS) at: 1800-88-3838.
All labour and replacement parts costs will be at no coost to owners.
