Volvo S60 T6 Gets EEV Status. RM42,000 Cheaper
Buying GuidesVolvo Car Malaysia has just announced that the S60 T6, which is equipped with the Drive-E powertrain is now recognised as an Energy-Efficient Vehicle (EEV) and with this new status, the S60 T6 will enjoy a reduction in retail price as outlined below:
Model | Retail price* | Retail price with EEV incentive* |
S60 T6 | RM280,888 | RM238,888 |
* On-the-road without insurance, inclusive of six per cent GST
The T6 engine equipped on the S60 outputs a maximum 306 hp at 5,600 rpm and a maximum torque of 400 Nm between 2,100 and 4,800 rpm. All of this power is managed by an 8-speed automatic transmission with two overdrive gears that conserves fuel when cruising at constant speeds.
The combination of these technologies help the S60 T6 deliver only 6.7 litre / 100 km (NEDC combined cycle) in terms of fuel consumption. This means that the current T6 engine produces more power, uses less fuel and produces fewer emissions than the previous engine.
The powertrain package enables the S60 T6 to do the century sprint in only 5.9 seconds, thanks to the super- and turbocharger combination which results in a big, naturally-aspirated feel with high amounts of torque available across a wider range.
The S60 T6 also comes standard with Dynamic chassis, a faster responding steering gear ratio, thicker steering column tubing and stiffer bushes with increased torsional rigidity by 100 percent, to give an increased feeling of direct contact with the wheels and the road.
“Our Drive-E powertrain technology is focused squarely on delivering responsive power, clean efficiency and an exceptional driving experience. Using our advanced boosting solutions, we are able to get the best out of our precisely-designed engines,” said Lennart Stegland, Managing Director of Volvo Car Malaysia.
