Home News Auto News Toyota Calya and Daihatsu Sigra Launched In Indonesia – 7-Seater Perodua Axia/Bezza Toyota Calya and Daihatsu Sigra Launched In Indonesia – 7-Seater Perodua Axia/Bezza Auto News Hans | August 02, 2016 05:22 pm PT Toyota Astra Motor and PT Astra Daihatsu Motor have jointly launched the Toyota Calya and Daihatsu Sigra twins in Indonesia earlier today.Manufactured by Daihatsu at their Karawang plant with a local content ratio of 94 percent, the 7-seater Sigra/Calya is jointly developed by Toyota and Daihatsu, primarily for the Indonesian market.Powered by a 3NR-VE 1.2-litre Dual VVT-i engine, the Sigra/Calya qualifies for duty exemptions under Indonesia’s Low Cost Green Car (LCGC) initiative. The Daihatsu Sigra has an additional option of a 1.0-litre 1KR-VE VVT-i engine.The seven-seater Sigra/Calya twins are an extension of the A-Segment 1.0-litre Toyota Agya/Daihatsu Ayla twins, and if you could ignore the badging, our Perodua Axia.Given that the Perodua Bezza sedan is based on the Axia, one could also say that the Sigra/Calya, Agya/Ayla/Axia, and Bezza are all part of the same family.Prices range from IDR 106-149 million for the Daihatsu Sigra and IDR 130-150 million for the Toyota Calya. In comparison, the cheapest Toyota Avanza 1.3-litre Manual starts from IDR 183 million in Indonesia.Being a low-cost car, safety features for the Sigra/Calya are quite limited, with dual front airbags and ABS reserved only for the higher variant models.
