Toyota C-HR Hybrid Goes On Sale In Indonesia
Auto NewsThe Toyota C-HR Hybrid has been officially introduced to the Indonesian market.
Just days after our sister site Mobile123 broke the news, official distributor PT Toyota-Astra Motor has confirmed one variant with two colour choices – priced from IDR 523.35 million (RM 153.7k) for the single-tone colour and an additional IDR 1.5 million (RM 440) for the dual-tone exterior colour.
The hybrid variant costs approximately IDR 31 million more than the conventionally-powered 1.8-litre variant, which starts off at IDR 492.35 million; a jump of 6.2 percent.
The C-HR’s competitive price tag is possible due to exemptions of its ‘Luxury Goods Sales Tax’ currently granted by the Indonesian government for alternative-powered vehicles.
The C-HR Hybrid features the (2ZR-FXE) 1.8-litre Atkinson cycle petrol-electric hybrid engine which is also shared with the Toyota Prius. The petrol engine produces 98 PS and 142 Nm, while the electric motor is rated at 53 kW and 163 Nm, allowing for a combined system output of 122 PS. Power is sent to the front wheels through a CVT-type automatic transmission.
The C-HR Hybrid is fully-imported from Thailand.
Separately, CNBC Indonesia reports that Toyota expects sales of its hybrid vehicles to reach 700 units in 2019. Current hybrid models sold in Indonesia include the C-HR, Camry, and Alphard hybrid.
