The Top Three Best Selling Cars In Malaysia Are Peroduas

There seems to be not stopping Perodua as the company records another stellar month of sales in July 2020.

The company registered 23,203 vehicles in July, beating June as its best sales month so far this year by 9.2 percent, and boosting its year-to-date (YTD) sales total to a total of 97,373 units.

Three of its five models – namely the Axia, Bezza, and Myvi – are Malaysia’s best-selling chart-toppers, posting deliveries of 28,107 units, 25,416 units and 29,313 units respectively YTD.

Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Zainal Abidin Ahmad adds, “The Perodua Myvi, Malaysia’s best-selling vehicle every year since 2006. It remains one of the most affordable cars with advanced safety features in the country,”

“Since our operations restarted after a two-month Movement Control Order (MCO) closure, our volume has rebounded swiftly, aided by the government’s sales tax exemption which will run until year-end. Should this encouraging trend continue, the healthy volume will enable us to further bolster Malaysia’s automotive eco-system of suppliers and dealers in this time of need.”

Perodua estimates its July and YTD market shares to stand at between 40 percent and 42 percent of the Total Industry Volume (TIV) in Malaysia.

The strong sales of the Myvi, would have in no doubt been boosted by the introduction of the updated 2020 Myvi which comes with Perodua’s ASA 2.0 safety system and a new Blue colour.
