Home News Auto News The Mercedes-Benz GLC Gets A Facelift The Mercedes-Benz GLC Gets A Facelift Auto News Aswan | March 01, 2019 11:07 am One of our favourite models in the Mercedes-Benz line-up has finally received a facelift, in tandem with the changes afforded to the new C-Class and the launch of the all-new A-Class. As is the nature of progress, the two main aspects in which improvements are made are fuel consumption (through the use of a 48V on-board electrical system) and functionality (through the most updated form of MBUX).Visually, the changes aren't particularly obvious - which isn't a bad thing, because even the GLC we have right now is a gorgeous looking machine. There's a little more chrome from front to rear to provide a sportier aesthetic, with new standard-fit LED High-Performance headlamps across the range. The rear end gets a revised bumper and tail lamp design, for a signature look that you can spot from a mile away.On the inside, the aesthetic changes reflect that of the C-Class facelift with slightly different material choices and a different steering wheel. The party piece is the MBUX, which can be controlled through touch control on the multimedia display, touch control buttons on the steering wheel, a multifunction touch pad on the centre console, gesture control with the interior assistant, or voice control.Mechanically, the differences are subtle but important. There are five variants from launch, and all of which will come with Dynamic Body Control adaptive suspension as standard. Of the variants, two are petrol and three are diesel. What Mercedes-Benz highlights is the fact that they all produce more power than the powerplants they replace, but with significantly lower fuel consumption. Most likely destined for our market are the GLC 200 (197 hp, 280 Nm), and the GLC 300 (258 hp, 370 Nm) - both of which have the belt-driven starter generator to assist when necessary.Rounding out the changes are improved safety features. The Driving Assistance Package, as it's known, as an optional extra depending on variant and country, but the standout features are Active Distance Assist Distronic, Active Steer Assist, Active Speed Limit Assist, Evasive Steering Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, Active Brake Assist. All of these features are fairly self explanatory in nature, and they're not the items you really appreciate until they save you when you absolutely need it. ✕ Let's Connect on Whatsapp We protect your personal information in compliance with the PDPA I agree with Carlist.my Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
