The return of the Ranger FX4 features that fierce FX4 look, through distinctive FX4 upgrades, including exclusive FX4 only accessories. These unique FX4 changes include an exterior with a blacked-out theme, changing its grille to an ebony black coloured grille, 18-inch black wheels, gloss black side mirror and door handles, as well as a black sports bar - adding to the already aggressive look of the Ranger. Part of this particular FX4 theme is also the unique FX4 decals, located at the front doors and tailgate. The interior has also seen some upgrades, with FX4 embossed lettering at the seats and red stitching across the interior. The Ranger FX4 is also packed with a host of smart technology and safety features seen in the current Ranger vehicles, including 4X4 Shift-On-The-Fly, rain-sensing wipers, the light and nimble Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS), daytime running lights and headlights for better visibility. It also comes with two airbags, Limited Slip Differential, Hill Descent Control, Hill Launch Assist, Antilock Braking System (ABS) with Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) and Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), ISOFIX child seat mounts, Electronic Stability Control with Traction Control, Rollover Mitigation, Trailer Sway Control and Adaptive Load Control. Unfortunately however, the powertrain has not been upgraded returning to the familiar 2.2 litre TDCi VGT turbodiesel engine with an output of 158 Hp and 385 Nm of torque from 1,600 to 2,600 rpm. The six-speed automatic transmission from the current Ford Ranger also returns and with it a four-wheel-drive system with on-the-fly shifting and an electronic-locking rear differential.
