Takata Airbag Recall: Nissan Frontier, Sentra, and X-Trail - 53k Units In Malaysia

Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) has extended the Takata airbag inflator recall to another two more of its models, the Frontier (D22) and Sentra (N16), on top of an additional batch of the first-generation X-Trail (T30), following a recent announcement by Nissan Motor Co.

The new announcement folows the earlier announcement by ETCM on June 2015 and August 2016 respectively for the Takata airbag inflator. 

With the three models mentioned, ETCM is recalling another 52,707 units of vehicles in Malaysia over its Takata front passenger airbag inflator.

This Takata airbag inflator recall does not affected the current Nissan X-Trail that was launched on January 2015. Other current selling Nissan models are not affected by this recall as well.

Customers of affected Nissan vehicles will be informed by letter through Tan Chong Ekspres Auto Servis (TCEAS). Customers can also call the Nissan Customer Care Centre at 1800-88-3838 or visit the Recall Campaign on Nissan's Malaysia's site. 

All labour and replacement parts for these service campaigns will be free for the owners.
