Honda Malaysia has announced that owners of parallel-imported Honda vehicles fitted with defective Takata airbag inflators will also be covered by the company in the ongoing recall campaign to replace these components.
The owners of the parallel imported Honda vehicles are advised to contact any authorized Honda dealers in the country for the details of the required preparations to have their vehicles repaired as soon as possible.
Cost of parts and labour for the airbag inflator replacement will be borne by Honda Malaysia.
Most franchise holders are typically unwilling to provide support to owners of parallel-imported vehicles for such recalls, so Honda Malaysia's gesture here is a laudable one.
