Swire Group Subsidiary Announced As New Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Dealer

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has announced the appointment of a new dealer partner, Auto Commerz Sdn Bhd, as part of the brand's ongoing expansion of its dealership network.

Auto Commerz is a subsidiary of the Swire Group, a global business group with over 200 years of history dealing in property, aviation, marine services, F&B, and industrial trading. The Group happens to be the largest shareholder of Cathay Pacific.

Subsidiary companies of the Swire Group distribute and retail various automotive brands across Asia, including Mercedes-Benz passenger and commercial vehicles in Taiwan. Locally, Malaysians are familiar with the Swire Group through its Volkswagen dealership in Puchong.

Auto Commerz and Mercedes-Benz Malaysia are in the midst of exploring potential locations to open new dealership facilities. No locations have been announced, but officials of both companies have indicated that more than one outlet will be forthcoming.

For starters, Auto Commerz will be operating in an interim facility based along Jalan Genting Klang in Setapak. A sales-only outlet, the dealership is nevertheless fully compliant with the Mercedes-Benz Presentation System II (MPS II) global CI. A further investment of RM 10 million from MBM and Auto Commerz has been allocated for the dealership over the next two years.

After sales operations have yet to be set up, but will be available when the dealership moves to a permanent location, which has yet to be announced at this stage. Customers who purchase a Mercedes-Benz from Auto Commerz can service or repair their vehicles at any of Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s dealerships nationwide.
