To our eyes, the ‘concept’ moniker is in name only; it looks very ready for production. Should that be the case, it’ll exchange blows with the usual suspects of the practical hatch world: the Ford Fiesta, Mazda2, Kia Rio, and Volkswagen Polo. And that’s just for the Malaysian market; with many more contenders internationally. Choice isn’t an issue here.Suzuki designed the iK-2 with a philosophy they call “Liquid Flow” which clearly has had a substantial influence on the car’s contours, meant to convey dynamism and ‘harmonized force’. Its pronounced front is taken up by the car’s wide grille and LED headlights with definition lines stretching along the side and to the rear. It sits on a new platform that’s weighs less than the previous generation while also being more rigid. This yields better fuel economy, reduced NVH levels, and gains in handling and safety. It’s offered with Suzuki’s BOOSTERJET engine, a 1.0-liter turbocharged unit. No figures have been released yet, but we can expect larger displacement-like performance and turbocharged torque aside from the expected downsized fuel consumption boost. We’re sure we will be seeing more of the iK-2 on the run up until it goes on sale in 2016. ✕ Let's Connect on Whatsapp We protect your personal information in compliance with the PDPA I agree with Carlist.my Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
