Home News Auto News Subaru Malaysia Announces Recall On Forester, XV, And More Over Brake Light Switch Subaru Malaysia Announces Recall On Forester, XV, And More Over Brake Light Switch Auto News Siew Weng | March 01, 2019 05:38 pm TC Subaru and its parent company, Motor Image, has announced a recall involving four Subaru models to replace faulty brake light switches.The specific models have been identified under the recall campaign as are stated below:Forester 2014-2016 Model Year (MY)Subaru XV 2012-2017MYWRX (4-Door) 2011-2014MYImpreza 2008-2016MYSubaru says that silicone gas from certain consumer products may seep through the housing of the brake light switch. This particular component is believed to be located at the brake pedal assembly.As a result, functions related to the brake light switch (brake light, Vehicle Dynamics Control, transmission and engine-start interlocks, and EyeSight) will stop operating.If the defect occurs, the brake lights will not light up and may cause other road users to be unaware of the driver’s intention to slow down or stop the vehicle, thereby increasing the risk of collisions.Motor Image said it will notify its customers in Malaysia and the region about the recall and replace the brake light switch and related parts, free of charge.“Motor Image is committed to the highest safety standards and quality driving experience for all our customers.
