Spyshot: First Look At The All-New 2019 Subaru Forester

Subaru will be introducing an all-new 2019 Forester some time next year, replacing the outgoing model which has been around since 2014. 

According to sources, the all-new 2019 Subaru Forester will be riding on the company's new Subaru Global Platform (SGP) that currently underpins the the new Impreza and XV. The move to the Subaru Global Platform should allow engineers to reduce the overall weight of the Forester while increasing its structural rigidity. 

In terms of powertrain, we can expect the new 2019 Subaru Forester to feature the company's range of boxer engines, both in turbocharged and naturally-aspirated flavours. Similar to other Subaru models, power will be sent to all four wheels via its signature Symmetrical AWD system. 

Our spy photographers further added that the new Subaru Forester was caught testing with a Honda CR-V and Volkswagen Tiguan, likely benchmarking against these popular SUVs. 

Visually, the Subaru Ascent concept that debuted at the 2017 New York International Auto Show should be a rough idea of how the new Forester could look like.
