Spyshot: All-New Volvo V60 Caught Winter Testing

Auto News

Volvo is a brand that is synonymous with wagons, as they have been steadily rolling out wagons with each product lifecycle, despite the market favouring SUVs.

After Volvo introduced the all-new XC60 and XC40, they turned their attention to the next generation V60, as seen in these spyshots sent to us by our European spy photographers.

The test mule here is wearing a thick layer of camouflage that does a great job of keeping the juicy details away from prying eyes, though it does give us a good look at the next generation V60’s silhouette.

From the looks of it, it appears that the next generation V60 could look like a smaller V90, down to its signature Thor headlights and vertical tail lights. Not that it is a bad thing, as the Volvo V90 is perhaps one of the finest looking wagons on sale right now.

Similar to its stablemates, the all-new Volvo V60 rides on the company’s Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform. The new model is also expected to share powertrains with other SPA-based models, so a 400 hp and 640 Nm T8 Twin Engine Volvo V60 could very well happen in the future.

No word on when Volvo plans to introduce the all-new V60, but judging from the near-completed body and what appears to be production ready wheels, we reckon a debut towards the end of the year is on the cards.
